Your amazing adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. After meeting your professional guide, you will travel southwest toward the enchanting El Fayoum Oasis, about 100 km from Cairo. The distance takes around two hours and offers a gradual and great transition from the crowded capital to the peaceful and beautiful rural landscapes of palm groves and farmlands.
Your first stop will be the impressive protected area of Wadi El Rayan, one of Egypt’s most beautiful and most famous natural reserves. This area contains two large and amazing lakes connected by Egypt’s only natural-looking waterfalls. Although created as part of a modern and genius irrigation project, the waterfalls have blended seamlessly into the dazzling desert environment and now attract wildlife, a variety of migratory birds, and visitors from around the world.
After enjoying visiting Wadi El Rayan, continue by 4×4 vehicle to the famous Mudawara Mountain, one of the most dramatic and wonderful viewpoints in El Fayoum. Mudawara is not a single mountain but a fascinating series of layered rock formations that rise suddenly from the desert floor.
You will visit the amazing Wadi El Hitan, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important and beautiful paleontological locations on Earth. This wide open-air museum contains the old fossilised remains of ancient and huge whales that lived around 40 million years ago, when this region was part of the Tethys Ocean.
You will be impressed by the charming Magic Lake. This unique lake earned its name because its water appears to change many colours throughout the day, shifting between shades of bright blue, green, and turquoise depending on sunlight and time.
