To enjoy your Egypt Desert Safari excursions, Best Global Tours’ tour guide will come to you from your Cairo or Giza hotel.
We will use an air-conditioned four-wheel safari vehicle to transport you to Wadi Rayan via the Cairo-El Fayoum desert road. Wadi El Rayan, a dip in Egypt’s Western Desert, is approximately 42 meters below sea level and features two lakes connected by waterfalls. It was created in 1970 as a result of an excess of drainage water from the Fayoum farmlands, and it offers a breathtaking view that is unmatched elsewhere (waterfalls in the middle of the desert!).
Continue your journey by driving all the way to Wadi Hitan, where you may see and photograph whale carcasses scattered over the island. The 40-kilometer course is located inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wadi El Rayan Natural Reserve, popularly called the Valley of the Whales. Stop along the route at Mudawara Mountain, a stunning location with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape, west of El Fayoum Lake.
We will take you to see the national park of Wadi Hitan, which is like an open museum with a lot of information about Egypt. It goes back 40 million years and is one of the oldest places in the world that shows how whales have changed over time. Here, over 400 different kinds of skeletons from sea cows and whales, as well as other bones, shells, and plant fossils—some of which have been preserved in soft rocks—have been recognized.
