Day 5: Kom Ombo and Edu temples tour

The current temple was built on the ruins of an ancient temple that was also dedicated to the worship of the god Sobek and was called ‘Per-Sobek,’ meaning ‘House of Sobek,’ dating back to the era of King Thutmose III. You will notice that the god of evil occupies the right side of the temple, which symbolises the east, representing mortal life that ends in death. The god of good occupies the left side of the temple, which symbolises the west, eternal life, which begins after death.

It is one of the largest and best-preserved temples remaining from that historical period. The Temple of Edfu is a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian religious art and architecture, clearly reflecting the artistic and technical excellence of Egyptian civilisation. The temple reflects the central role of religion in the lives of the ancient Egyptians.

Day 6: Great visit to Aswan

The towering Pharaonic temple of Philae catches the eye of visitors. A few minutes aboard the boat are enough to spark visitors’ curiosity, as Philae Temple appears from the outside as a towering edifice rising from the heart of the Nile, hiding many secrets within its walls.

The incomplete obelisk is one of Aswan’s most famous landmarks. Located in the Shalal area, it bears witness to the greatness of the ancient Egyptians and their astonishing progress, giving us a vivid picture of how the ancient Egyptians carved and cut the obelisks that adorned their temples.

Egypt’s greatest concern was to tame the longest river on Earth: the Nile, which had subjected Egypt to its whims and caprices in the form of destructive floods and terrible droughts. Egypt considered building the High Dam without infringing on the rights of any other country, and it is considered one of the most important achievements of the Nasser era.
