Tour Plan
Day 1: Embarkation - Explore the East Bank of Luxor:
Upon arrival in Luxor, you will be met and assisted by one of our professional representatives, and then you will be transferred to the fascinating MS Royal Signature Nile Cruise for embarkation before lunch.
You will start your exploration tour by visiting the breathtaking Karnak Temple Complex, which is the largest and most impressive religious complex ever built in the ancient world. This unique temple was constructed over a period of more than 2,000 years. Karnak is dedicated primarily to the powerful god Amun-Ra. Highlights include the Great and huge Hypostyle Hall with 134 massive columns, amazing sacred lakes, chapels, and towering obelisks.
You will visit the remarkable Luxor Temple, which is situated along the beautiful Nile corniche. The Luxor Temple was built first by the great king Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramses II. Unlike other temples, it was dedicated to the most important royal rituals and festivals, especially the huge Opet Festival, linking it symbolically to Karnak Temple.
We will transfer you back smoothly to the cruise for lunch and relaxation on board.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2: Exciting West Bank of Luxor Tour – Sail to Edfu:
You will wake up early to enjoy your morning breakfast and tea then start your enjoyable tour today. You will visit the fascinating Valley of the Kings, which features richly decorated and beautiful tombs carved deep into the desert mountains. You will learn more about the ancient and important burial beliefs and explore several great royal tombs.
You will visit the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The Temple of Hatshepsut boasts stunning and captivating restoration details, particularly on the upper floor, with its breathtaking statues of Osiris and the ingenious role of the master architect Senenmut in the unique design of the tri-staped structure. You will also find the highly significant Punt reliefs and the Divine Birth inscription, which tell the story of Queen Hatshepsut’s reign and its legitimacy.
You will see the gorgeous Colossi of Memnon, which are two enormous seated statues of powerful and great Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who once guarded the entrance to his vast mortuary temple.
You will return to your beautiful cruise and enjoy lunch while sailing toward Edfu via the Esna Lock.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
You should book the optional Hot Air Balloon ride to float gently above the amazing Luxor’s West Bank at sunrise, enjoying panoramic and breathtaking views of the Valley of the Kings, temples, and wide, lush farmlands. (Optional activity)
Day 3: Enjoyable visit to Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples – Sail to Aswan:
After having you hearty Egyptian breakfast, you will visit the majestic Temple of Edfu, which is of great importance because its ancient walls serve as a virtual and massive library documenting the “Edfu Building Texts,” revealing many important details of the genius Ptolemaic building techniques, as well as myths and daily life.
Then you will visit the idyllic Kom Ombo Temple. The temple’s perfect and special location on the banks of the Nile River lends it natural, stunning beauty and added appeal. It also reflects the richness of the great Egyptian civilisation during the Greek and Roman periods and is included on the list of the most famous protected and preserved Egyptian cultural heritage sites.
We will transfer you back to your Nile cruise to enjoy your evening onboard while your cruise continues sailing to Aswan.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Enjoyable Tour to the most famous sites in Aswan:
You will have a healthy breakfast in the early morning and get ready to visit the magnificent Aswan High Dam, which is considered the modern Egypt’s Backbone. Beyond the strong flood control, the dam reshaped Egypt’s economy and agriculture, securing water year-round and producing a huge amount of hydroelectric power for millions.
You will visit the spectacular Unfinished Obelisk, which is an ancient and important Engineering Workshop. This massive and beautiful monument reveals the genius step-by-step process of obelisk carving and the huge risks ancient craftsmen faced.
You will visit the picturesque Philae Temple, which is the famous sanctuary of Isis. Once submerged by the strong rising waters, Philae was rescued and reconstructed on the enchanting Agilkia Island. Its reliefs represent the final chapter of the great ancient Egyptian religion, as Isis worship continued well into the famous Christian era.
