Tour Plan
Your professional and friendly tour guide will meet you at your hotel. You will enjoy a comfortable drive along the Desert Road to reach Alexandria. Your first stop will be the famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is a modern cultural and architectural marvel inspired by the ancient and beautiful Library of Alexandria, once the greatest learning centre in the ancient world. Then you will visit Pompey’s Pillar, which is a massive and famous Roman triumphal column built in honour of the powerful Emperor Diocletian. Standing 26 meters tall, it is made from a single piece of the original red granite. The surrounding area contains special remnants of the Serapeum, once a grand temple dedicated to the holy Greco-Egyptian deity Serapis.
Your next stop will be Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs, which is considered one of the most famous Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. This extensive, impressive underground necropolis features a unique and special blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artistic styles. You will visit the old-standing Citadel of Qaitbay, which was built in 1477 AD. The dazzling Qaitbay Citadel sits majestically on the site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria. You will enjoy a freshly and carefully prepared seafood lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the sea.
You will see the wonderful Alexandria Corniche, which stretches for miles along the Mediterranean waterfront, offering some of the most beautiful city’s views of historic buildings, modern cafes, and sparkling blue waters. After finishing this adventure, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo.
