Saint Catherine Monastery tour from Sharm El Sheikh

Early in the morning, almost before sunrise, our representative will be waiting for you with your  car to  set off from Sharm el-Sheikh towards the Sinai Mountains. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the quiet and beautiful road, and the mountains around you look like natural paintings with their golden colour. The journey took about two and a half to three hours, but the views made the time fly by.

When you arrive at St Catherine’s Monastery, you will immediately feel the sacredness of the place. The monastery is nestled between towering mountains, as if protected by natural walls. As soon as you enter through the gate, you will notice the peace and tranquility that fill the air.

Take a walk around the monastery with a guide, and visit the bush tree, which is said to be the tree where God spoke to Moses, peace be upon him. Seeing the tree was a very moving moment, especially with its history and religious symbolism.

We then entered the main church inside the monastery. Its Byzantine design and ancient religious symbols made you feel like you had travelled hundreds of years back in time.

During the tour, learnt the story of how the monastery was built, and how the monks maintained it over the centuries, until it became one of the oldest functioning monasteries in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
