Tour Plan
Your Egyptologist guide will meet you in the morning at your hotel in Luxor to begin your enjoyable journey, driving to the West Bank, where ancient rulers sought their eternal rest. Your first stop will be the Iconic Valley of the Kings, final home to New Kingdom pharaohs. This impressive site includes more than 60 dazzling royal tombs. You will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari), which is a priceless masterpiece carved into the cliffs. This temple honours the great Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few and most beautiful female pharaohs. You will stop to see the Colossi of Memnon, which are two huge seated statues of Amenhotep III, each over 18 meters tall. They once guarded the entrance to a great mortuary temple long lost to strong floods and time. After exploring the West Bank of Luxor, we will stop to enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
You will explore the East Bank of Luxor by visiting the famous Karnak Temple Complex, which is the largest religious complex in Egypt, dedicated primarily to Amun-Ra. You will see the Hypostyle Hall, with 134 high, iconic columns arranged in precise mathematical order. You will be amazed by the beautiful Sacred Lake used for priestly purification rituals and the long Avenue of Sphinxes connecting Karnak to Luxor Temple. Your final stop is the impressive Luxor Temple, built for the amazing Opet Festival, which celebrates renewal and divine harmony.
Your friendly tour guide will bring you back to your hotel after completing a tour through Egypt’s two important symbolic realms—life and eternity.
